Nymphoides indica, commonly known as Water Snowflake, is a rhizomatous, floating-leaf, tender aquatic perennial belonging to the family Menyanthaceae. It is native to tropical areas around the world and has naturalized in certain parts of southern Florida. The plant has round, flat, bright green, lily-like leaves that cover the water surface somewhat like water lily. The leaves are 2-8 inches in diameter.

Min 30cm depth of water required

Here are some step-by-step instructions for taking care of your Nymphoides indica:

    1. Watering: The Nymphoides indica thrives in moist soil, so make sure to regularly check the water to see if you need to add more. However, avoid overwatering as it can lead to root rot.

    2. Sunlight: The Nymphoides indica does best in a spot where it gets bright, indirect sunlight. This spot is always bright but never gets direct sunlight.

    3. Fertilizing: The Nymphoides indica needs quite a bit of energy to grow, so you should fertilize it once per month in the spring and summer.

    4. Soil: The Nymphoides indica prefers a moist growing environment, so you’ll need soil that holds onto water well. You can use vermiculite and coconut coir to hold onto more moisture.

    5. Temperature: The Nymphoides indica prefers a spot that consistently stays between 10 - 22°C (50 - 71°F).

    6. Propagation: To propagate the Nymphoides indica, you’ll have to divide the plant and grow each part separately. This is quite damaging, so don’t do this too often.

    7. Repotting: You should repot your Nymphoides indica once every 2 years. This helps your plant stay healthy for many years.
